Piyush Mishra and Alex Paras Give First Shot for Sequel

Filming for 'Kaleji Oonko Sweater', the sequel to last year's blockbuster hit 'Oonko Sweater', has officially commenced from Yumthang Valley in Sikkim, India. The project kicked off on Monday following a traditional auspicious ceremony featuring chants by local Buddhist monks. Indian actor Piyush Mishra alongside actor Alex Paras delivered the film's first clap shot.

The ceremony was attended by Tashi Tsering Bhutia (Chairman of Sikkim Film Promotion Board), Sanjay Dilpali Rai (Chairman of Cultural Board), local ADCs, representatives from the Indian Army, and local clergy. To be shot across Nepal, Darjeeling, Sikkim, and Delhi, the movie features Piyush and Alex alongside returning leads Bipin Karki (as Dharanidhar Kafle) and Miruna Magar (as Phool Gurung). The cast also includes Pariksha Limbu, Teria Fauja Magar, Suraj Tamu, Sharda Devi Silwal, Bhuwan Singh Rai, and Rushma Rai.

Written and directed by National Award winner Navin Chauhan, this marks his second directorial venture. According to Chauhan, the sequel responds to audience demand for closure on the characters Kafle, Phool, Dambar, and Iksha, while exploring deeper themes of love, life, and human emotions. The sequel features co-writing and chief assistant direction by Abhishek Subedi, cinematography by Chintan Rajbhandari, and music composed by Kobid Bajra.

The original film, based on an inter-caste love story, achieved massive commercial success, grossing around NPR 12 crore in Nepal and crossing INR 1.5 crore in Indian theaters during its 51-day theatrical run.
