Kabaddi 5' Gets Universal Certificate, Opens on Kartik 6
Rambabu Gurung's 'Kabaddi 5: After the Final Match' has received a Universal certificate from the Central Film Examination Committee. The certificate came on Friday, Ashoj 30, which means viewers of all ages can watch the film.
According to director Gurung, committee officials responded positively. Like earlier installments, this one blends social stories with humor, and the feedback was that it entertains, he said.
The trailer shows ups and downs in Kaji's life, the start of a new business and a clash with Bipin Karki's gang. It follows Kaji and his team, weary of unemployment, running a Shanti hotel in Mustang. Audiences have shown curiosity about Bipin Karki's gangster avatar and about Miruna Magar's character, Miss Shanti. The producers claim the earlier song 'Thak Khola' also lifted interest.
With all four earlier parts doing well commercially, expectations for the fifth are high. The cast includes Dayahang Rai, Bipin Karki, Bijay Baral, Buddhi Tamang, Rishma Gurung, Sirjana Gurung and Miruna Magar. Presented by Basuri Films, it is produced by Rambabu Gurung, Maniram Pokharel, Madhu Mijar and Bishal Gurung, with Sagar Raj as executive producer.
Music is by Kaliprasad Baskota, Adha Sur and Jhuma Limbu, cinematography by Sanjay Lama and editing by Surendra Poudel. In Nepal, the film is distributed by Banktesh Entertainment and T Falk, and abroad by Seven Seas International.
