5,000 Cheer in Butwal as 'Aa Bata Aama 2' Kicks Off Its Promotion Tour
Chandra Pant's film 'Aa Bata Aama 2' arrives in cinemas on Ashoj 30 (October 16). After its teaser and two songs earned good buzz, the team has started touring towns to promote it. The first stop was Butwal, in Lumbini Province.
On Friday evening, more than 5,000 people gathered for the film's musical event at Golpark, Butwal. Some had been waiting since morning to see the stars. When the cast, including Paul Shah, took the stage in the evening, the crowd's cheers echoed across the park.
Paul Shah and Malika Mahat danced to the film's Dashain song 'Rato Tika Lagauda Kya Dami Dekhiyo'. Aakash Shrestha, Nikita Acharya and Rishta Gurung joined them on the same song. Singers Babul Giri and Ganga Sonam raised the mood further with 'Achel Kina Kanchhi'.
Encouraged by the Butwal response, the team plans a Saturday event in Kohalpur, Banke, with Paul and other cast members taking part. After that come Chitwan and, finally, Gongabu in Kathmandu, director Pant said.
Based on the bond between a mother and son, the film also features Bipana Thapa, Pradeep Rawat, Cygrace Pokharel, Sabin Shrestha, Gajit Bista, Naren Khadka, Dilip Akheda and Begum Nepali (Bhatbhate Maila), among others. The story was written by Pant himself.
They say posters don't fill theatres, crowds do. Gathering 5,000 people in Butwal is no small thing, but buying a ticket is another matter. With a mother-son story at its heart, there's hope it will touch hearts, but the verdict will be the audience's on October 16.
